SISEL Stresses Self-Reliance
2007.04.13SISEL is starting a tradition of being “non-traditional.”
First, untraditionally, SISEL is headed by and experienced management team. Tom Sr., Tom Jr. and Darick Mower all have decades of proven, successful, experience in the MLM industry.
Next, untraditionally, SISEL is debt free, being funded entirely by the Mower family.
And, also untraditionally, SISEL owns their own manufacturing facility.
Not just a small corner in some run-down warehouse, the SISEL manufacturing facility is a $25 million dollar, brand new modern, facility located near the future SISEL corporate headquarters in Springville, Utah, USA.
So, what’s the big deal? Did SISEL just go out and waste a bunch of money building a manufacturing plant when they could have just outsourced the product manufacturing to someone else – like most MLM companies do?
SISEL sees this huge investment in it’s own production and manufacturing facility as a strong step toward complete self-reliance.
SISEL is already financially self-reliant. SISEL also aims to be self-reliant in producing and manufacturing the entire SISEL line of products.
But why does SISEL feel it is so important to be self-reliant?
It all comes down to the Mower’s past experience. Over the years the Mowers have seen how difficult it can be to work with product manufactures, especially when they were just one of the manufacturer’s many clients and had to “take a number”.
Darick Mower, SISEL President says, “As we built this company one of the morals that we have is being able to rely on ourselves as much as possible and having to rely on others as little as possible. It is a proven success strategy we have used that has shown us success in the company that we had been in for years and years. The majority of the times that we had to go out and rely on some one else for things that we need is when we ran into big trouble.”
It was nearly impossible to design, test and produce new products on the production schedule the Mower’s desired when they had to deal with a third-party manufacturer.
In starting SISEL the Mower’s first committed to owning their own production facilities. Not just a few packaging machines, but the ENTIRE production process - from raw materials to shipped products.
To do this the Mowers spent over $25 million dollars to create a world-class manufacturing facility. They have also purchased most of the buildings and land around their new facility looking forward to future expansion.
Brand new, ultra-modern machines were also purchased, set-up and tested to the highest international standards. The new facility is also in the process of being certified to produce products for all the world’s major markets.
Because of the size, capacity and technology of the new plant, it will probably also be used to produce products for other companies.
Having this facility 100% at their disposal gives the Mowers and SISEL the ability to control their product creation, manufacturing and shipping schedules.
This allows SISEL to be of the few fully self-reliant MLM companies in the world. No longer with the Mowers have to put up with outdated equipment, slipped productions schedules and poor customer service from third-party manufacturers.
“As I watched the system coming together,” says Mower, “it is absolutely brilliant and fun to be a part of that. It is fun to be a part of a company that can think that far ahead of where we want to be and how we want it to be done the right way.”
